Rice Pilaf

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup long-grain white rice

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1/2 onion, finely chopped

3 clove garlic, minced

1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

1 tsp kosher salt

3 cup chicken broth

Preparation

2. Thoroughly rinse rice in strainer or colander. Set aside to drain.

3. Melt the butter in a medium oven-safe saucepan over medium heat. Add the rice and cook, stirring often, until lightly golden. Add onion, garlic, salt, and pepper and cook until onion has softened.

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

4. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Cover, place in oven, and cook for 22 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to rest with lid on for 10 minutes.

5. Remove lid and fluff gently with a fork. Serve.
